Bain & Company is a global business and strategy consulting firm which has worked with over 4,600 clients worldwide. The firm provides management advice on decisions relating to strategy, operations, mergers & acquisitions, technology and organization. Bain, whose business proposition is making other companies more valuable, turned to Siteworx to add value to their own website.
Bain employs over 3,500 consultants through a global reach of 44 offices located in 29 countries, and consultants offer expertise in industries ranging from Media to Industrial Machinery. Bain promotes a team mentality over a view of singular experts, and Bain’s website did not effectively convey cohesive team engagement. With its diverse group of high-level talent and wide portfolio of business strategy capabilities, Bain needed an enduring website that would unify the brand and serve as a key component of its overall business strategy.
The website redesign served as a corollary to Bain’s existing offline business-to-business activities. Siteworx helped to align the company around the purpose of the website in relation to Bain’s overall strategy and the brand as a whole. Bain needed to develop a strong identity online which would provide a company-wide rallying point and also help differentiate Bain from its competition.
Bain engaged Siteworx to redesign their corporate website and implement the SDL Tridion Web Content Management system. Siteworx conducted research and developed a user-centered strategy for the redesign, then architected a site map, wireframes, conducted usability testing and assisted with copywriting. Visual design deliverables included mood boards and color concepts, color composites and a web style guide. In the development phase, Siteworx completed front-end development, system architecture and technical design, infrastructure planning, software installation, WCM development and integration.
As a global consultancy with 40+ office locations today, Bain needed to allow each present and future office location to have its own online presence that worked within the overall brand family. The site was designed to be simple to use, and also to provide built-in flexibility for growth. The end result was a crisp, beautiful website which effectively projects Bain’s identity to potential clients, while solidifying that corporate identity for Bain consultants worldwide.
