About Sharepoint-Powered Sites

Added By on

As a Solutions Architect at Siteworx, one of my responsibilities is designing, developing and configuring Sharepoint environments. I’m excited to be writing to you on the Siteworx blog, as well as receiving some feedback about my ideas.

I have been a Solutions Architect focusing on Microsoft SharePoint for the last 3 years and have spent the majority of my time focusing on customized collaboration sites to solve internal business problems.

One project I worked on recently involved converting a heavy documentation-centric project management process to an automated program management site using SharePoint MOSS 2007.  The site contained CIO-level dashboards and detailed reports for project managers and users of the site. The majority of the information on the site was based on out-of-the-box templates from SharePoint. This allowed a very quick rollout of the site and was the foundation for future automation of business processes in the organization.

With the explosion of Microsoft Office SharePoint Services (MOSS 2007), many companies have begun to invest in the implementation of the SharePoint Platform across their overall sites (external Web sites and Intranets). My future blog posts will speak to ways we’re applying Siteworx methodology to deliver dynamic, engaging, yet easy-to-use Sharepoint-powered sites.
