Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group (MOHG) is an international hotel management group with luxury hotels, resorts and residences in sought-after destinations around the world. MOHG manages over 40 hotels in 25 countries and operates, or has under development, 13 Residences at Mandarin Oriental. With such sprawling assets, the Group needed a multi-channel digital platform that would cost-effectively scale as more of their clientele search for and book their accommodations online and on-the-go.

Our Approach

Mandarin Oriental engaged Siteworx to restructure and re-launch its website on the SDL Tridion Web Content Management (WCM) system. Following the successful re-launch and deployment of 22 sites in six languages, MOHG tasked Siteworx with crafting a mobile strategy. As a leader in the luxury hotelier industry, the Group wanted to reinforce its online brand and establish a leadership role in the mobile space.

Recognizing the need to extend its global reach beyond desktop computers, after re-launching mandarinoriental.com, MOHG tasked Siteworx with creating a roadmap for a full-service multi-channel platform and executing their overall digital vision.

Refining the Mobile Experience

Design

Siteworx' UX designers created a mobile browser experience that approximated the experience of a native app, while maintaining the classic, elegant aesthetic of the Mandarin Oriental brand. Furthermore, to ensure an optimal experience regardless of device, Siteworx utilized a testing service that provided virtual access to all phones on both AT&T and Verizon networks.
